Stable Cottage is part of a peaceful little cluster of farm buildings and holiday homes, just a short walk from the spectacular West Wales Heritage Coast near New Quay, Ceredigion. Once the working stables of Llainfran’s Victorian farmhouse, it has been thoughtfully restored into a cosy, character-filled retreat with everything you need for a relaxing break.

Sleeping up to six, the cottage makes a wonderful home-from-home for families or friends. Spend your days walking the coastal paths, beachcombing, spotting dolphins and seals, exploring local history—or simply unwinding with a good book in the garden sunshine or enjoying the view. On cooler evenings, light the fire and curl up indoors for the perfect cosy end to the day.

A stay in Stable Cottage comes with some very special neighbours. In the surrounding meadows you’ll find gentle donkeys, playful goats, alpacas, Shetland ponies and friendly sheep—always happy for a hello.

For adventurers, hidden gems like Cwmtydu and other secret coves are just a stroll down the lane. Within a short drive, you’ll also find the charming harbour towns of New Quay, Aberaeron and Llangrannog, each offering its own mix of beaches, cafés and coastal charm.

Eco-friendly features

• Llainfran Fach farmland uses no fertilisers, pesticides or herbicides on the land.
• We provide organic, home-grown vegetables and preserves for sale in the season to our guests.
• We have created several wildlife ponds, wild-flower meadows, winter bird scrapes and a bird hide for wildlife conservation objectives.
• We encourage invertebrate life with bug hotels and pond-side log piles for amphibians.
• We provide guests with bird feeders and food to encourage bird life as much as possible.
• We have planted an orchard to provide habitat for wildlife, hold water, reduce soil erosion and encourage pollinators.
• We have installed a rainwater collection system on-site to recycle water for irrigation and land management and to control the rate of surface water runoff into adjoining watercourses to minimise the consequence of flooding.
• To optimise carbon storage on site and to enhance the local microclimate, we have an active annual programme of native tree and hedge planting and replacement across our land, with two new trees planted for every one felled.
• We use and supply all-natural Bio soaps and washing liquids in the cottages, which are synthetic chemical-free
• To retain the integrity and operation of the septic tanks, eco-friendly products are provided.
• Segregated bins and recycling facilities and composting of organic food waste on-site.
• All cottages have low-energy LED lighting and are fed by our solar panels.
• All cottages are double-glazed and have full insulation in roof spaces and thermostatically controlled radiators.
• Our welcome packs comprise eggs from our hens, our apple juice, homemade bara-brith, homegrown flowers from the garden and locally roasted Teifi coffee.
• All firewood for wood burners is generated from annual tree management across our land and seasoned for at least three years before use.
