Nordic walking is a specific pole walking technique which harnesses the power of the upper body to turn walking into a workout! It can be adapted for anybody and can be done anywhere! It is important to use the correct types of poles, planted at an angle. Here in West Wales, we have fantastic locations all around Pembrokeshire, Ceredigion and Carmarthenshire for Nordic walking.
The Crychan Forest is nestled between the Cambrian Mountains and Brecon Beacons and on a Nordic walk, you are lucky to witness the beautiful countryside that it contains. Walk along some of the many waymarked trails which take you along drovers routes and through varying terrains.
If you decide to extend your walk, you will be absorbed by the breathtaking views over the surrounding mountains of Mid Wales. Throughout your walk, you can discover a variety of wildlife such as the contrasting trees from the conifers to the native oaks, ash, beech and hazel of the original forest. You will be lucky enough to see Bluebells still blossoming; listen to birds singing amongst the trees and watch Buzzards fly above your head.
