Llangain is located to the west of the River Towy, and south of the town of Carmarthen, the community contains three standing stones, and two chambered tombs as well as the ruins of 15th century great house, Castell Moel. The village also contains the church of St Cain (1871) and the congregational chapel of Capel Smyrna (1835 – rebuilt in 1865 and restored in 1915) and Tafarn Pantydderwen – a public house that has also been a post office and a sweet shop.
