New Year in West Wales

There’s plenty going on to entertain everyone this New Year’s Eve in West Wales, so throw on your glad rags and join in the fun! We’ve put together a little round-up below, so wherever you’re staying in Pembrokeshire, Ceredigion or Carmarthenshire you’ll find something to suit. And if you’ve not planned a stay yet, maybe now is the perfect time!

The Healthy Side…

Here in West Wales, we like to ring the New Year with a bit of fresh air, and the odd splash of cold water too! Why not join in on the fun with hundreds of locals at one o the daytime New Years events, whilst also doing your bit by raising money for charity at the same time.

Llandysul is known for holding an annual New Year’s Eve run, set up to raise money for a community run leisure centre. All proceeds go to Calon Tysul.

Llandeilo in Carmarthenshire hold a 10 mile New Year’s eve run every New Year’s Eve. Providing you with water stations and fruit along the way, it is fantastic to end the year with a massive achievement like completing in a 10k race.

Saundersfoot is famous for it’s New Year’s Day Swim. Thousands gather to Saundersfoot, dressed in fancy dress costumes ready for a dip in the cold Pembrokeshire sea to raise money for charity.

The Hwyl…

As much as we love the exercise, we Welsh also love a good party! Practice your ‘Iechyd Da’ in readiness! West Wales has some fantastic events throughout New Year’s Eve such as street parties or pubs with live music or karaoke. Whatever you are after, West Wales has it.

Enjoy live music in the coastal village of Tresaith at The Ship Inn. Not only will you be able to have some delicious pub food and Welsh ciders, you will be immersed in the Welsh culture with fantastic live music from Welsh artists and bands.

Carmarthenshire is starting the New Years off right by holding a karaoke night at CWRW. It’s time to sing your heart out with some of your favourite songs and a drink in your hand and a microphone in the other.

Annually, Tenby House in Pembrokeshire hold a brilliant street party with fireworks, confetti and a large countdown. Once the New Year has hit, head back into Tenby House for more drinks with some of your loved ones.
