Gwbert sits on the Ceredigion Coast Path, with several beaches close by, and where wildlife is abundant: it is possible to see dolphins, grey seals, porpoises and basking sharks, as well as seabirds and birds of prey. The Gwbert Hotel and Cliff Hotel are within walking distance and both have restaurants serving good food, whilst the Cliff Hotel also has a spa and 9-hole golf course. Cardigan Island Coastal Farm Park and Cardigan Golf Club are nearby.
Just 5 miles away the market town of Cardigan, on the River Teifi, offers plenty of places to explore as well as all your necessities, with its mouth-watering eateries, restored Norman Castle, Guildhall market, independent shops, galleries, cinema, theatre, supermarkets and leisure centre. Enjoy a pizza quayside at Pizzatipi, go for a walk at Teifi Marshes Nature Reserve and Welsh Wildlife Centre, or visit the ruined 12th-century Abbey at nearby St Dogmaels.
Towyn Farmhouse is an ideal holiday destination to enjoy many of the sandy beaches up and down the coast and this is a superb area for walking. The Ceredigion Coast Path runs north along Cardigan Bay, and you can join the Pembrokeshire Coast Path south of Cardigan.
